Handbook for Patrons

Coverage of our policies, procedures, and general information about the Hugh & Hazel Darling Library

Introduction

Did you know that even SALT students outside of the Fullerton area have access to online resources from the Darling Library? This includes access to eBooks, eJournals, and databases. Follow the instructions on this page for accessing our research databases. We've also included some information on local libraries near different SALT programs in case you would like to request print resources from them.

Did you know...?

Many public libraries provide some form of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. ILL is a way that a library can request to borrow an item from another library if they do not hold the title locally.

For example, if you wanted to borrow How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth and your local library did not own it, you could ask to request it via ILL and they would acquire it from a different location that owned the title.

Note: Not all libraries provide ILL services free of charge. Check with your local library to enquire about any fees they may have. Be prepared for the item to take around a week to arrive after you request it.
