Student or Professional?

The APA 7th edition provides separate formatting guidelines for student and professional writers. Most students will follow APA 7’s guidelines for student papers but should always ask their professors which guidelines they prefer them to use.

See the Student and Professional pages in this guide to see the difference.

APA (American Psychological Association) style is most commonly used to cite sources within the social sciences.
