AI Literacy Framework

An attempt to create a framework for how we, at HIU, might approach teaching AI to our students so that they might be prepared for the workplace upon graduation.

AI for Psychology Curriculum

AI can be used by professional psychologists in several ways: as a research assistant, to help with scheduling appointments, and responses to future patients, promotion and advertising. Most of that is related to using the AI to write email blasts, social media promotions, text to image creations. For students, an AI can be used for practice therapy sessions.

Students should be taught:

  1. Prompt Engineering - use the AI to create emails, advertisements, and such. This will help with gaining and keeping clients.
  2. How to Research with AI - use the various research AIs (currently: Elicit, Consensus, Perplexity, Semantic Scholar, Research Rabbit, and such) to research a topic and get summaries of such research.
  3. Train a bot for conversational use - Use an AI to practice therapy sessions for simple or complex issues.
  4. Make an assistant - Use AI or other computer programs to become a scheduling assistant.
