Discovery Service

What is a discovery search?
It is a way to begin your research using a single search tool to search across multiple databases at one time. WorldCat Discovery is the search tool used by the Darling Library. Find it front and center of the library's home page.

What do I get from a discovery search in WorldCat Discovery?

  1. ALL of the books, eBooks, DVDs, CDs, print periodicals, etc. held by the HIU Library.
  2. Holdings of libraries worldwide - many of which may be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.

A discovery search is not very refined, but you will get a list of MANY relevant items to consider.

TIP: You are encouraged to use the filters that you will find on the left side of the screen after you run a search. Using filters will help you limit your results to just those items you want. See the video tutorial on the Basic Search page.
