Introduction to Research in Psychology

Psychology scholars and practitioners have their own way of going about finding information and doing research. This means that you will need to become familiar with the unique resources and terminology of this area of study. The Intro to Psychology LibGuide is designed to help you go beyond general library resources and become familiar with the specialized resources for Psychology students. Resources such as subject specific:

  • Encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference resources used for background information or supporting information
  • Research databases used to identify peer reviewed journal articles, essays and book chapters
  • Thesauri used to identify proper subject area terminology
  • Style manual used for proper formatting and citation of sources in papers and other scholarly and professonal presentations
