Many public libraries provide some form of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. ILL is a way that a library can request to borrow an item from another library if they do not hold the title locally.
For example, if you wanted to borrow How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth and your local library did not own it, you could ask to request it via ILL and they would acquire it from a different location that owned the title.
Note: Not all libraries provide ILL services free of charge. Check with your local library to enquire about any fees they may have. Be prepared for the item to take around a week to arrive after you request it.
